I'm in love with Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick

                                                                     Practice Safe Love

I am a big huge fan of true love, love at first sight, soul mates, meant for each other, marriage, and any other cliche' or term you can come up with to define the meetings and happenings of love between two people. You give me a story where people love each other unconditionally and both try to make it work above all else and I'll eat ut up with a spoon.
Hollywood movies and books had shifted and skewed our veiw of this traditional and old school way of living together with respect and mutual giving and taking.
We should all practice safe love. Marriage isn't about me me me. Marriage isn't about you you you. Marriage isn't about 'what am I gonna get from this'. One definition of marriage is 'a close union, blending or mixing of two things.' I love that definition.
We always hear about the bad stuff, the dirt, from Hollywod and gossip. Who broke up with who, who's cheating on who, who's having babies and getting divorced at the same time, Charlie Sheen. The news never covers anything good, anything with substance, anything to make our heart sigh and out mouths utter an 'awww'. Take these couple for instance.
-Kevin Bacon and Kyra Segdwick                              - married 23 years
-Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell                                   - together 28 years
-Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick            - married 11 years
-Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prince Jr               - married 9 years
-Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne                                       - married 29 years
-Melanie Griffith and Anonio Banderas                        - together 15 years
-Will and Jada Pinkett Smith                                       - married 14 years
Did you know that these couples had been together this long! I know some of these couple are unconventional (the reason Jada and Will are last is becasue they have an open marriage which I think kinda defeats the purpose of marriage but congrats on 14 years of marriage anyway!) but you never really hear about these guys on the news. All I hear are Kardashians and Britney and The Situation and senators. I'm ready to start hearing about the people who stick it out despite it all, give us inspiration and mentor us! I myself have been married for 10 years now and I can't possibly imagine being with anyone else and have no future plans to rid myself of my man. (Axel, I love you, infinity.)
So....theres this song by DC Talk that's lyrics say "We all want to be loved, yeah. We all want just a little respect. We all want to be loved. Tell me what's wrong with that?"I agree!! What's wrong with love these days! Nobody stays together and  it saddens me but I try to focus on the good. Another song is Sugarland "Whuo, whuo, stuck like glue. You and me baby we're stuck like glue! How did we stay so long together, when everybody, everybody said we never would." That's it! We should be stuck like glue to our partner!
So, focus on the ones who are never talked about, the ones who stick it out together, thick and thin, through babies and houses and jobs, through tormoil and tribulation, through age and dicrepidness! Congratulations and keep up the good work!

                                                                           Best Wishes and Happy Endings,
