Teaser....Thursday?? Yep.

Teaser Thursday
UNDENIABLY FATED
The Significance Series

It's been a little while since I did a teaser for the new Significance book, Undeniably Fated, but I plan to start doing then again on Tuesdays. BUT I figured, since I was getting the kids school set up and completely forgot what day it was and missed it, that I would go ahead and do a teaser today instead. I mean do it even matter, really, what day it is?
I don't think so :)

So here you go, Aces!

Obvi, it's unedited and subject to change. I'm going to make it a little bit of a long one for you since it's been a while.

“I’m not embarrassed!” I yelled and adjusted my tone. “Damn, Ember.” I turned so she wouldn’t see me squeezing my eyes so tightly, about to lose my ever-loving mind. “You’re the most gorgeous woman—”
“That’s not what I meant. I didn’t mean what I looked like and neither did you.”
I flew back around, ready to let her have it again. Fighting with Ember was just as fun as anything else we did. But what I saw when I turned made me stop, made me grip my hair painfully, made me question what I’d been thinking and doing, and what I planned to do from here on out.
“Ember,” I groaned and took her tear-streaked face in between my hands. Her eyes closed, but I needed to see those baby blues. “Open your eyes. Look at me.” She did, with a little huff, in true Ember fashion. “You’re breaking my heart, sweetheart. I haven’t seen you cry since that first day. And back then, it was definitely justified.”
She rolled her eyes. “And right now it’s not justified?”
“Ember.” Her eyes met mine again. “Shut up.” She knew exactly what I was doing and as I continued to stare, her eyes began to water again. I swept my thumbs underneath them to wipe it away. “I’m so sorry.” I thought about Bridget. I remembered it all so she could see. “I shouldn’t have taken out old wounds on you. You’re not anything like her, or anybody else for that matter. You’re amazing and special and…” I shook my head. “I don’t want to think about what would have happened if I hadn’t met you.” I closed my eyes and let my head fall to hers. I heard her sniff. “Ember, you’re so beautiful on the inside and that makes you gorgeous outside, too. I never thought you couldn’t handle him; I was just worried about those parts of my life colliding again, that’s all. Last time, it didn’t make it seven minutes before it crashed and burned.”
I pulled back and saw her blue eyes surrounded by red. I caused this. Man, I could be such a pain in my own ass sometimes.
I leaned forward and kissed a tear from the apple of her cheek. She tightened her arms on my waist and sighed, her breath hitting my neck, before she eased one of her hands up my chest to the back of my neck. “It’s okay,” she whispered. “It’s your family. You can decide when to introduce me. Or not.” She looked at her hand on my neck and moved her fingers a little. “I wasn’t trying to intrude; I just wanted to—”
“Don’t ever say that again.” I pulled back on the gruffness, but she didn’t seem fazed by it. She knew me better than I ever imagined she could. “You’re not intruding, Ember. You are my family. I am such a jackass,” I hissed that last part in understanding. “I’m so sorry, sweetheart. Please forgive me for ever making you think you weren’t my family for even a second. You are, you have been ever since you locked eyes on me, and you will be until the day I stop dragging in breath.”

Coming Soon!
Nope, I don't have a date. I'll let you know when it gets closer to time! I'm working in it! ;)
