My favorite Christmas was the year my son was born. He was the greatest gift
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the year we first had a real Christmas tree. It made Christmas feel extra special!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was my seventh when my grandparents were able to fly down, it was special for my parents who hadn't seen them in a long time, plus we went to Disney.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable Christmas was when I was 8 years old. My mother had gotten me all sorts of little gifts and she wrapped and numbered each one. Then she got a huge box and filled it with packing peanuts, mixing all my presents in with them. I had to dig through the peanuts to find the presents but I couldn't just open any that I found. I had to dig til I found the right number gift! I had a blast!
ReplyDeletemy brother, sister, & i always got to open some jammies & a movie on christmas eve. then we'd stay up late with hot chocolate 7 junk food, watching our movies. always loved that. now i get to start it with my child. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas would be that time when we didn't have electricity at home and had to make do with all the candles. UGH. My parents had a super duper romantic time while me and my brother turned Christmas night into Halloween night! Haha.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite christmas was when i traveled in december to NY, i could see the snow for the first time and play with it, with my brother and cousins, i live in the caribbean, so it was awesome, i was 16 years old, so from that until now i try to travel in that season. I love it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the last year that my Grandpa was with us, we all knew he was sick and we made the most of our time. It was a beautiful day for the entire family.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas memory is the one ny Oldest brother surprised us. He was stationed over seas and we hadn't seen him in over a yr. He was due to come home in February. So we all thought it would be another year without him with us for Christmas. Every year my Aunt has her annual Christmas eve party so we all sat around reminising. We were supposed to skype with him in about an hr so we were all getting ready and there was knock on the door and in walks santa claus something my uncle always does but he was sitting across the room. So as we all looked at each other wondering who this guy was my niece walks up to Santa and said are you hereto give us our gifts? Santa looked down at her asked what she wanted most of all and her answer was I want to send my Gunko a Hug he can feel. So as we all had tears in our eyes he bent down and hugged her and then said I felt that ad it was the best hug I ever recieved! He took off his hat and beard and we all began crying and hugging each other, its a memory I will never ever forget!
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful, Tanya. :')
DeleteYeah that was really sweet. :')
DeleteMy fav christmas was the first one we had w our daughter she was only6 mths old and so fascinated by christmas lights she didnt care about tge gifts under the tree we laughed for hrs over her ! ~ ali t jaterry1031
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't have a favorite Christmas. I love and cherish each one and feel very blessed to be able to share them with all my family and friends.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was Christmas 2011 because it was the last one with my mom.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was around 7 years old. My parents took me out of school a week early and we went to Disney, and I just remembered being wide eyed and just amazed at all the decorations and the fact I could ride any attraction countless times without going through lines. I just remember it being the most awesome Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy best Christmas would be one where I had all my family around me, including the loved ones that I've lost these past three years, and they all would be safe, well and happy, and we would all share a glass of cider, sip cocoa or eggnog by the fire and just remember the good old days, when things were easy and laughter didn't come with a price tag.
ReplyDeletemy favorite Christmas was the one I had when it was my first Christmas being a mom. It was so much better seeing it through your kid's eyes!
ReplyDeleteWatching both of my kids wake up to Christmas for the first time. :)
ReplyDeleteMy most favorite Christmas is every Christmas if I'm honest! I always have my family surrounding me and we always have a laugh and a big Christmas dinner together! I love that because my sisters don't stay with me, my brother and my mum and dad anymore, so we don't get to see them that much!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway! Merry Christmas :)
My favorite xmas was when I was 7 wejust moved from California to massachusetts during the summer. It was the first time me and my family saw snow and it was the first xmas where we got lots of presents.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I have a favorite Christmas. I love that every year my whole family gets to spend time with each other & just have fun. It's a time to slow down & appreciate what you have :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I can pick a favorite. I just savor every Christmas for the last 20 years with the family we created rather than the family I had been stuck with. Merry Christmas to you and everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteThis year will be my favorite. My daughter finally knows the meanig of Christmas, knows who Santa is, and is excited for her gifts. Its gong to be fun to watch her this year :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when my dad brought gifts back from London. Being a big fan of England and all but my family from up north was also able to get away long enough to come visit, which is always great.
ReplyDeleteWhen me and my siblings all woke up Christmas morning and opened our presents, youngest to oldest.
ReplyDeletemy favorite Christmas was in 1995. my grandmother has passed away on Thanksgiving day and it was really hard for my mom that year. my grandmother had purchased some stuff online and didn't tell anybody that she had purchased it. she bought 3 foot energizer bunnies for myself and my sisters and didn't tell anybody. needless to say it was a huge shock when we got it the week before Christmas my mom just completely broke down and started crying but they were happy tears. I will never forget that Christmas for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas would have to be two years ago!! My brothers and sister's thought that since my mom was in the hospital having surgery a week before Christmas we wouldn't have Christmas. I pulled a big surprise on them and not only got a little Christmas spirit in my moms room but put up a tree and opened presents with eachother together!! My mom cried the whole we were there but they were happy tears to see we had not giving up our Christmas. Spirit
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is honestly every year. Every year, we'll have my aunt, uncle, and cousin come over to open presents with us. And despite the fact that we don't get to open them right when we wake up, it's so great to spend every Christmas with them! We always end up spending the whole week together, even though we don't mean to.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas will be when I can get all my sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and parents together. I am the oldest out of 9 kids who happen to be scattered through out the U.S.. There are 19 nieces and nephews. I can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteMy best Christmas was when I was 14yrs old and it was the last one we were gonna spend in Uruguay before moving to the States so we had about 30 family members in my house and it was awesome
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is was 4 years ago when my son got me my favorite gift ever! A Kindle!!! Something that I love and use every day!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas has been awesome for me but the last 5 have been the most special because I have gotten to experience them through my son's eyes. Merry Christmas Shelly!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that every Christmas has been a good one for me, and my family.
ReplyDeleteThe strange thing about one of your entries is that I was just going to leave a Merry Christmas comment, but when I read what you wrote, two words hit me between the eyes. I'm writing (trying) a book that I hope I publish one day, before I'm too old and ancient. Anyway, when you wrote that Wide Open is about 'second chances', I actually sat here with my mouth hanging open, because that's exactly what my story is called!!! Second Chances. So, here I am writing more than just wishing you a Merry Christmas, which I do. :) Guess I'll take it as a sign, and continue with it when I'm able to.
May your Christmas be filled with love, peace, joy, happiness, and of course, family. May 2014 bring you all you've ever dreamt of, and may your head and heart fill with wonderful stories.
My favorite Christmas was when my husband came home from Army basic training & School to be with me and our 1st daughter Natalie.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas's was when my little sister was able to be with my and my 2 children since I had not spent a christmas with her in a few years
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was really little and got a white teddy bear and a basket of candy from Santa. :) That was one of the Christmases I truly remember because I truly believed there was a Santa.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when my whole family went to Palm Springs. It was so beautiful. I hope this year will be great, and I know it will be! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and have a chance to celebrate with your family.
ReplyDelete2011, that's the Christmas I'd choose. It was the last Christmas I got to share with my grandfather ,who passed away a few months later. Till this very day I miss him like I did the first day. So, I'd never forget that Christma and I'd always be thankful for having him in my life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway Shelly and I wish you the merriest of Christams too!
I've loved all of my Christmas(es?)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the amazing giveaway!!1
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a good Christmas yet that I want to bother sharing...
ReplyDeleteBut one day I hope to have a nice Christmas with my husband (if I ever get married)a kid or two...maybe a fireplace, you know something pictureesque...and something happy... cause I haven't had too many happy holidays to recall.
Thanks for the giveaway~! Happy Holidays!
Ohhh! this is awsome!!!!! i love it.. the last christmas with my dad and my granma... in 2005.. they pass away the next year =/...
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a Christmas that has been memorable yet, but I believe that this year will be my most memorable Christmas. This is my last year at home before I transfer to a four year college. Of course I will come home next year, but it won't be the same as it has in the past. 2014 is going to be a whole new chapter in my life and even though I am super excited I am going to miss my family especially around the Christmas season. Which makes this year extra special :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year
My favorite Christmas was when my entire family got to come here. Everybody set aside their diffrences for one day and just enjoyed everything
ReplyDeleteI have special blessed Christmases every year but I am really looking forward to this year...we had our 5th and last baby in may and I cant wait to spend such beautiful time with my husband, our 3 sons and 2 daughters :)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Christmas - I had to have been about 8 or 9 and 'Santa' arrived at our door, bringing in stacks and stacks of gifts.
ReplyDeleteMy mom was sick (she had cancer) and had been in and out of the hospital since I was about 4.5. She was in the hospital prior to Christmas, but was able to come home and celebrate Christmas with us.
Since she had been sick for so long - we never really had any gifts for Christmas, just those we would get from grandparents, since my parents were paying for medical bills and three children.
So the hospital adopted our family for Christmas and got us SO much stuff. My mom had found out while she was in the hospital, but we (the kids) didn't have a clue.
Not only was it so great because we were surprised with gifts that we usually didn't get, but we also got to spend Christmas with my mom at home.
It's a Christmas I'll never forget - but all my childhood Christmas' has kept me so grounded and makes me understand that family is the best gift I could ever ask for.
My favorite Christmas would be all the ones when my grandpa Charlie was still alive. He always loved Christmas and made it special for all of his grandchildren. He didn't have alot of money but it didn't matter he made it fun and taught us kids it was about family time and togetherness.
ReplyDeleteI am ten years older than my brother and fifteen years older than my sister. This post isn't really about a single Christmas, but a Christmas tradition. My parents were frequently up until 2 or 3 am Christmas Eve getting everything ready. My brother and sister were up at 5, ready to open presents. It was my job to entertain them for as long as I could, so my folks could sleep. 2 hours was about my best. We made Trix treats (Rice Krispie Treats with Trix instead) and I read to them. The Best Christmas Pagent Ever was one of their favorites. I literally read the entire book to them. I still love Christmas and reading to my kids.

My favorite and most memorable Christmas was the Christmas of 2001 because that was the year before my grandmother passed away. The whole family got together and we had a big holiday feast, Christmas decorations everywhere with Christmas music in the background...very Hallmark-ish! Makes you appreciate the people you have around you. <3

ReplyDeleteA few years ago, the whole family was together and we had a fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteLast year was my favorite Christmas because I got to spend it for the first time ever, well that I remember because I was 1 the last time my family and I went up to my grandparents house for Christmas, with my grandparents. It was a second chance to try having a Christmas I remembered at their house. We ate cranberry bread and I got a camera. I took pictures every time I could. I love spending time with family and everyone deserves a second chance.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the year I read A Christmas Carol in English class. This was my favorite Christmas, because after i read the book, I really realized Christmas was all about being with your family and cherishing everyone!
ReplyDeleteMy most favorite memory of Christmas was 3 years ago. I was not expected to live a week after having my baby girl, having a blood clot go to my lungs. That was the most special christmas for me. Being with my hubby and my new baby girl.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was growing up in Guyana, being with family is all that is needed for a wonderful holiday
ReplyDeleteMy fav Christmas is being with all my friends and family in Perth
ReplyDeleteYou brought back my love of reading and I am so stoked there might be another Significant book!!! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteChristmas is such a special time of year! I love spending time with my family. Probably my favorite Christmas was when I was around ten. My mom bought me and my sisters two stuffed horses that stood high enough that you could ride them. They had stirrups and everything! I sat on those horses all day, and watched the musical Oklahoma on the TV from the bigger horse's back. We eventually named that one Patriot. It was such a fun day!
ReplyDeleteMay your Christmas be filled with peace, and may the true reason for Christmas bring you joy!
My favorite Christmas memory was a few years back when my Brother started remission for his Leukemia. We didn't know how Christmas would go because of living in the hospital with him for over a year, but Make-A-Wish Foundation helped my dad give us something. My brother and I always thank them every year around this time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win !!
<3
My favorite Christmas had to be the one this past year. My grandfather had passed away in late November, and we had to sell all of his stuff during the first few weeks of December. This wouldn't have been such a feat had me not been a hoarder. While we were going through all of his things, my mother uncovered some of his old cookbooks. He was a baker back in his day, always cooking up something to share with his neighbors or family. My grandmother (his daughter) found some recipes that she remembered using when they were kids, that she hadn't seen in ages. We held onto the books because they had more sentimental value than material. On Christmas day when our entire family got together for brunch, the adults cooked up all the cookie dough and the kids cut and decorated all of the cookies. It made me feel likeour whole family was united in remembrance and also the holiday spirit, and that is something that is hard to come by these days, even during the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite Christmas is Every Year I Get To Spend With My Family Because They Mean Everything To Me!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable Christmas is the last one I had with my best friend who passed away from cancer. We were both fifteen that Christmas and she was in the hospital. We spent it together with some of our families. I'll never forget it or her.

ReplyDeleteMy most memorable xmas was when we surprised the kids with 4 wheelers..Their surprise can not be matched.. Love all the family activities this time of year..
ReplyDeleteI have to go with, Christmas 2008, for my favorite one of all (so far). It was my first Christmas with my husband, as well, as our first Christmas as a family. I had just given birth to our first son, two days prior. It was the first Christmas that wasn't about gifts, because we didn't buy any. It was just the three of us, together for the first time. We lounged in bed all day, and eventually had dinner with our neighbors. It was peaceful, and full of love.
ReplyDeleteMy most recent favorite was last year...it was the first Christmas without our fur daughter Turbo who was with us for 15 yrs and another fur daughter Shadow who was an old girl, we don't know exactly how old...she adopted us when we moved into this house so she was with us 6 yrs...A Christmas present I got for myself was a "cat" ring I had made in honor of them on Christmas Eve (they didn't think it would be ready until after Christmas so it was a lovely surprise and turned out better than I imagined)...my hubby always does something special for me to bring me to happy tears...this time there was a gift with a card that I had to open last...it was a gift from my "Angel Girls" the card more so was so touching and the best present I could've received...he made it feel like they were with us...especially Turbo...she was with us most of our relationship so losing her was the hardest...I can't have children of my own so my fur babies are my children...I have such an amazing husband and am truly blessed....for me it's always the little things and he does those so well <3 Merry Christmas everyone!
ReplyDeleteI have been blessed with a multitude of good Christmas memories that it is hard to pick just one. So I will choose my oldest son's first Christmas. He was just 4 months old. Some friends of ours got him 27 presents (because that is his daddy's favorite number). It was so fun watching him trying to figure out how to open the gifts and then sticking the bows to his head after. :) That is one of my favorite Christmases. (and the following Christmas, I was pregnant with his younger brother, who was born 4 days later.)
ReplyDeleteMy best christmas would be the Christmas of 2006. My last year in the US. It wasn't amazing since tensions were high and everyone was on edge, but it was still the best one.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas happened from when I was little till about 2009. My family use to always meet at my Grandmother's house for a huge get together. Food, gift giving and the whole shebang. After 2009 when my Grandmother passed they kind of stopped. We still try and have a little get together but they usually are crazy lol. But I will always carry all those good times with me.
ReplyDeleteI am about to spend my first Christmas with my amazing boyfriend and our daughter and am very excited for this.
ReplyDeleteI read the Significance series so long ago! I think it would be so cool to win the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favourite Christmas because I spent them all with my family. Now my friend and her family come over on Christmas, too. It is great to spend Christmas with family and friends.
My favorite Christmas is going to be this year! This year I will be having my first Christmas alone with my husband! It's going to be super romantic and relaxing :)
ReplyDeleteI have lots of great Christmas memories as a child but this year with my 4 year old son has by far been my favorite! He's just now starting to really get into the whole "Santa" ordeal so we've been having a blast. I love seeing his eyes get wide with Wonder and I love listening to him talk about Santa and his reindeer. It melts my heart and makes me wish I was a child all over again. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for always being so awesome! I hope you & your family have the most amazing Christmas with many more to come! <3
My favorite Christmas was in 2007 after I got my girls away from their father. This is big thing for me to talk about so here it is. It started on November 21 which was the day before Thanksgiving that year. We lives in Fort Worth Texas and my closet family lived in Georgia so this was hard when this all happen. We had been married for 16 years and have two girls both his. He did stuff a father shouldn't do. So I had my mother on the phone with me she was on the flight that Friday and we were out of Texas to start over back in Washington state by December 13. We got to the house and my parents were NOT going to do anything big for Christmas. Just have dinner with my sister and niece and that was all. I told them WE HAD TO DO IT ALL. So my dad had gotten some time off from work as did my mom. Love both their bosses and within 48 hours we had the Tree and outside of the house all done with lights like my parents did every year since they got the house. So that Christmas was my little family of 3 starting over.
ReplyDeletemy favorite christmas ever was the first when when my daughter understood presents...it was the best ever to watch her open them up and mostly play with the boxes instead of the toys..lol
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this Shelly. I love your books and your an amazing author! Merry Christmas :) <3
ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway opportunity. Congratulations Shelly.
ReplyDeleteI think every Christmas is great when the family is together. Now that we have a grandchild, it is more special to relive those early days of wonder and excitement.
Merry Christmas to everyone and enjoy your family and friends.
This Christmas is going to to be special. We are expecting our first child, a girl that we are naming after my mother who passed away from ovarian cancer.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was about 7. I remember getting this really weird make up kit and all these crazy presents. However, it was the my most memorable. I found out later that my dad couldn't afford presents for us so our other family members went out and donated all those presents to us 3 girls. Best Christmas ever..Its all about giving and family and my family came through even when we didn't understand it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the last one I spent with my Grandpa. Christmas 2005. When I was little my paternal grandparents always had a Christmas Eve meal with the whole family, but as I got older it stopped. That year his health had declined, so he asked for a family Christmas. One where we all got along & all showed. We did. It was great. I loved my whole family for that and Grandpa was so happy. 2 days later he told the nurse that he thought he did good, that he had a long and happy life, and that he was so happy with what did and that he could rest in peace on his way back from his PT to his room and passed away. I miss him and I wish my family would've kept things going for him and for my Grandmother.
ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate Christmas so I do not have any favorite Christmas but I do have favorite New Years eve. As far as I can remember Every new year that I had from around 2000 till 2010 were the best those 10 new years are very special to me because those are the only 10 celebrations we had the most fun as family but after 2010 we kids have grown up and become so busy in our studies and everything that sometimes it feels like some among us has forgot what fun is that it feels great to be childish But I am hoping that this year would be great because if I am not wrong none of us have any exams this time in Jan to worry about :D
ReplyDeleteIn 2001 we flew to Baltimore to spend the holidays with my brother and his family. We had so much and it was special to spend time with loved ones that year.
ReplyDeleteI can't pinpoint just one Christmas that was good. Every Christmas since 2002 that I've spent with my brother has been a good one. If he's home and not deployed it's a very happy holiday.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is the last one I spent with my mother. She had Leukemia twice...the second time was so aggressive that she had to move into an apartment near Duke University Hospital. They let her come home that last Christmas. We tried to do everything she said that she 'wanted to remember'. They only let her come home for 3 days, but we cherished every one. She fought a brave fight.....passing away the following May.
ReplyDeleteI favorite Christmas was when I was 9 months pregnant with my first son...he was due on the 27th. My husband and I couldn't travel to be with family so it was just us. Although I thought I would feel lonely knowing everyone was with each other having a great time without us, we quietly went out to dinner and it felt so magical. Just the two of us, awaiting the birth of our little miracle, savoring the quiet before the storm, if you will ;) I felt so blessed and happy...I didn't think it could get better than that :) BTW, we named him Christopher and he was born on the 27th. He's now almost 18. <3
ReplyDeleteA few years ago my mom surprised my sister and I three days in a row with tickets to see the Nutcracker, the Transiberian Orchestra and the Lion King. It was such an amazing week and the first time we had the money to do something that crazy.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best Christmases I have had was two years ago when I got to travel down to Arizona to be with family because it is rare that I get to go down there for Christmas to spend time with my family. It was really nice because it wasn't cold down there and I could spend some time outside enjoying it with my family.
ReplyDeleteThis year will be great. My daughter is 3 1/2 and its that year where she knows whats going on and she is excited. I can't wait to see her face lit up on Christmas morning!
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway! My best Christmas present was my son alexander. He was born 3 years ago on December 14th.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite Christmas, every Christmas I've had has been awesome!! Thanks for an incredible giveaway!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIn my future I plan to have the most magical Christmas when i finally meet my Significant! Christmas can be lonely for me being single but it is that hope that my mind and heart will a answer the pull of the one that was created just for me. It is amazing to think its only one touch away but on that Christmas day I will spend it in front of a fire wrapped in his arms! BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is 2004, that's the day I married my best friend. Every Christmas since then has been equally special as we celebrate our marriage and Christmas with our children!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping this year will be the most memorable Christmas. And for those that know me, may think that is absurd, seeing as my husband of 11 years left me the end of September with no warning and this will be a very different Christmas indeed. We have a 4 and a half year old son so things will be done differently - trying to work out who he spends Christmas with and whatnot. But with that all said, I have been blessed beyond compare with an amazing church family & the craziest, sweetest boy ever. I have a God who loves me, despite my many faults and I know that, no matter what, I am blessed.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite christmas was in 2008. The last christmas we all spent it as a happy family before all the fights and nonsense seperated us. Hope this year we reconcile and this turns out as my fav.
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite Christmas when I spent a December (2011) in Hong Kong with my cousins. It was so much fun 'cause we went Hiking and then came back home for a fantastic lunch cooked by my aunt. It was unforgettable.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have one Christmas that stands out from the others. One of the most memorable was when my cousin proposed to his now-wife. He dropped to one knee right when everyone finished opening presents. It was really sweet.
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful Christmas last year. Hubby surprised me with a laptop. But the best thing was my parents and my sister came from Canada down to Florida to spend it with me, hubby and the kids. It was so great.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the year my son was finally excited to open presents. His first Christmas was great, but it was exciting to see the joy and wonder on his little chunky face.
ReplyDeleteMy most favorite Christmas was my first Christmas as a mother :) My son was almost a year old and it was so fun to watch his face light up with happiness at all the Christmas lights and decorations :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is going to be this one. We were never really big on traditions when i was a child, but i am going all out for my daughter. We went to Lights in the Parkway, which is a huge drive through lights show, we are going to be making gingerbread houses, and cookies for Santa, and a treat for the elves. I wrote her letter from the head elf, Jingle Toes (lol, she loved it!). We decorated her room with christmas lights, and she loves it. We're also going to be making homemade edible decorations for the trees outside for the animals. We're going caroling, and she's going to pick out a present for a little girl her age, and a little boy her brother's age, since he's too little to do it himself. This is my son's first Christmas, so it's our first Christmas as a complete family. I'm really excited :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the year my husband took me on a trip to the mountains and asked me to be his forever. I will never forget.
ReplyDeleteEach year gets even better. My daughter is five now and she just makes each Christmas even more special. I had great Christmases when I was growing up, but the ones with my little girl are so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy best memory of Christmas was when my daughter was 5 years old and she seemed to finally understand what all the excitment was about going to see all the christmas lights it's such a wonderful thing to see the awe in your childs eyes and the excitment she got out of christmas that year and it's only gotten better she is know seven Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was a few years ago. It was our last Christmas with my grandparents, so it will forever be a special memory. I'm looking forward to this Christmas because my nephew will be old enough to open his own gifts. I can't wait to watch!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite christmas was when my best friend came over to visit me from a whole other continent. We had a great time catching up and creating new memories.
ReplyDeleteMy baby boys first Christmas watching him play with wrapping paper and bows instead of presents
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was last year when my daughter first remembered Santa and was so happy when she opened a Christmas themed blanket. She is 4 now and to this day no one is is allowed to touch her Santa Claus blanket :-).
ReplyDeleteI have to say my favorite Christmas has to be year when Bella was born. She spent her first Christmas in the NICU. But I was amazed by how a biker group had such kindness and they delivered toys to the babies in the NICU. What a sweet surprise that had been to come to the NICU Christmas morning to be with my sweet Bella and find that.
ReplyDeleteIt is too hard to pick a favorite Christmas when each Christmas is better than the last! A Christmas filled with family, friends, and holiday cheer is more than I could ask for! Merry Christmas from my family to yours, Shelly! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite christmas was when my boyfriend (now husband) proposed :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was younger. We would always go to my grandparents and sleep over. We would stay up as late as we could then wake up at 4 am to see what Santa brought. Now my grandparents are gone. I'll always cherish those memories.
ReplyDeleteIn 2011 we were waiting to have a biopsy done on my daughter's jaw. We didn't know if it we cancer or just some type of cyst. So that Christmas was extra special because we made sure to spend a lot of time with all our family and just enjoy the little things. Luckily 5 days after Christmas she had her surgery and out was only a cyst and she has been happy and healthy ever since.
ReplyDeleteMy best Christmas was when I got my puppy!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas so far was the first Christmas we had with our first daughter. It was just my husband, her and myself and we had the best time, even though our daughter was only 4 months old. We were together and enjoying each other.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas was the Christmas of 2010, because it was that day my best friend, who also happened to be the guy I had been crushing on for 4 years, finally asked me out :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas was 2005 - I found out that I was expecting our 4th baby on the 22nd December and I decided to keep it a secret from everyone, including my husband. I was bursting to tell him but I knew that I wanted it to be special so I held my tongue! On Christmas morning after our 3 boys had opened all their presents, and hubby and I had exchanged gifts, I gave him a Christmas card. On the envelope it said "Daddy". He opened it up and inside the card I had written "to Daddy, Merry Christmas. I can't wait to meet you and Mammy and my three brothers next summer. Lots of love from Bump xx "
ReplyDeleteI watched his face as the realisation hit him - it was a picture! And so worth keeping it a surprise, we'll never forget that Christmas!
My best Christmas will be in 2016. A Lot of good things are going to happen that year
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas has been every year I get to spend with my family! Christmas is my favorite time of year :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was my grandmother's last. We all knew that she was not doing well and I will never forget my husband and I going over to her home and spending the day with her.
ReplyDeleteI guess I was around 11 when I asked my Mom for a Nintendo for Christmas. She said that it probably wouldn't happen, but when I woke up on Christmas morning and ran for the tree......There it is was in all of it's Gaming Glory. Best Christmas Ever! "Santa" pulled a fast one on me! :) Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was born a couple days after christmas, that will always be my favorite. =D
ReplyDeleteOn Christmas Eve 2006, my mom wrapped her positive pregnancy test as a gift for my dad. We all started bawling. That year, I got THE IDEA of a little sister, and on my 14th birthday in 2007, we brought her home from the hospital.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is every Christmas since my daughter was born.
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas when I was little. We would all get together at my aunt's house & I mean everybody.... aunts, uncles, cousins & grandparents. Absolutely loved it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas would have to be every one since I had my kids.... the magic and excitement that came back to my house was amazing. Now they have matured and this is the first year where we will try to keep the magic and tradition alive. Fingers crossed <3 Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Can't wait to see you at NOLA!
ReplyDeleteLove the Christmas when my son was 6 months old 12-2006. he started to crawl, it was his first, things were good. we all were soooo excited, it was the last Christmas my dad would spend with my son. It means a lot to me.....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas would be 3 years ago when I was 14. I woke up and ran to the tree along with my brothers and we started the traditions. Just the usual stuff, opening our stockings, scratching our bingo tickets, drinking hot cocoa, etc. When my parents woke up and joined us, I could feel the love in the air. We exchanged gifts and laughter filled our hearts. Little did I know that this would be our last Christmas as a family since my parents would be filing for divorce the next year. Some people might be bitter about this loss, however I try to look on the bright side. I had 14 wonderful Christmases with my family together, and I will cherish those memories forever. I cannot wait to start my own family someday and keep the traditions alive.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas everyone :)
Every Christmas is wonderful as long as I have my family with me.
ReplyDeleteMy best Christmas was one I had several years ago. The food was amazing, the gifts were fantastic, and all my family was there (which never happens)!
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best holiday season Shelly! <3
I can't think of one specifically, but just the many years growing up and having family time with my parents and brother and our years of silly pajama pictures together. Now as a wife and mom of 3 sons, we get to continue our family time and do our own silly things together. I feel completely blessed. Merry Christmas, Shelly!
ReplyDeletespending it with the whole family
ReplyDeleteThe most memorable was when my one sister and her son still lived in this area and my whole family were all together at my house for Christmas meal and after the whole family sat at the table and played board games, so much laughter, we played for so long, snacked on goodies the whole time too, and I never forgot that Christmas because then the next year my one sister and her son moved away, i miss them but the rest of us keep this tradition going and we still play board games each Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was last Christmas. I moved earlier in the year to go to college, and it was one of the first times I was home since August. It was so nice to celebrate with all of my family! I also am looking forward to this Christmas. My brother joined the military this last year, and we didn't expect him to be able to join us for the holidays. He ended up orchestrating a surprise, though, and he's home for a month! I'm excited to spend quality time with him.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas was three years ago, when my boyfriend come home early from the mission. It was a surprise (he is in the Army) so I thought he would be away!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was before my husband became disabled, we had a new car, new house, our kids lacked for nothing and we had no problem getting them Christmas presents! Those were good times and I know we will be blessed again in the future! I believe in Christmas miracles!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is when my grandparents were still with us and we all got together at their house and my uncle would handout gifts one at a time. Everyone would watch everyone else open their gifts. Man I miss them!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would be the time growing up ... the holidays with my family ...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the first one I had as a mom. My first son may have only been about 6 months old but it was just so much more magical when you have children to share it with. Every year has been even more magical as my family has grown. Even years when we don't get to do much we still enjoy our family and celebrate what this season is really about. Thank you for your awesomeness and generosity!! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!! <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas memory would be when I got my kitten. I was about 4 years old and I remember going into my grandmas room and there was a little animal taxi and inside was the cutest little kitten ever. I named her Kitty Wus and 17 years later I still have her =D We are best buddies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway and for making me remember that special Christmas.
Becky
My favourite was a couple of years ago I had twins on the 20th and had to stay in hospital for a week so spent it there and Santa came and left presents for my oldest so when he came to visit he loved it cuz he got more presents :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was 9 because all of my family flew out to my house and we were all able to celebrate the holiday for the first time. I met some cousins and aunts and uncles that I didn't even know about! :) One day, I'm going to have my own Christmas with my future husband and our kids because I want to pass on the great family traditions to them. <3
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas I found out I was pregnant after trying for years! Every Christmas is a good one though because it is Jesus' birth and he died for us! The most incredible gift of all.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite Christmas was the first one I had with my husband in our own house with our daughter. I know it sounds cheesy but it was like we were grown ups and creating our own memories and traditions.
ReplyDeleteLast year, my daughters spent Christmas at their dad's house and I was going to spend it alone, but a wonderful friend and her family invited me to celebrate with them. It made me feel completely loved and welcomed.
ReplyDeleteI can't really say that I have a favorite Christmas. Each year seems to get better. :) But I have to say that I look forward to the day when my boys grow up and have families of their own and everyone comes home to my house for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas is my favorite! :D
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas so many things happened, really unexpected and I love it all, good or bad it doesn't matter, I learn from the bad ones and good ones are my inspiration, and for this year is another favorite for my blog just turned one year and God's gifts to me are oh so precious! I'm just so lucky!
here's my blog Home of a Book Lover
I think I was in fifth grade and I had my whole family, my two brothers, my sister, and my parents, and we woke up early to sort all the presents we got. When we finished unwrapping, I remember I got a pink scarf, pink gloves, and a pink umbrella and I put on my whole ensemble then I dance around while my parents snapped pictures.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was younger all I wanted was a new bike and santa brought it to me! It was pink and sparkly!
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas is my favorite. It's pretty much the only time my family is all together at once. My side of the family is very small and it means the world to me to get to spend time with them. My boyfriends side of the family is massive so its always a fun time there. They celebrate Christmas at midnight. As soon as it turns Dec 25th everyone makes their rounds of hugs and Christmas wishes and then we celebrate! !
ReplyDeleteI feel like this year will be my favorite Christmas because I'm getting a pair of new hiking boots. I'm a geology major and this summer I'm heading to field camp for work. I'm in need of outdoor equipment for school. I'm also hoping to get a rock hammer. My parents support me in many ways. I love them for that. :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas is about spending time with your loved ones and having great time! So for me it was last Christmas when all my family was reunited <3
ReplyDeleteAs for the future I would like just the same cozy feeling that your family can give you :)
I think this year will be my favorite Christmas. I'm getting a kindle paperwhite.( They already told me.) I read at least 4 books a week. I read it on my phone and I think it will be way easier for me to read on a kindle paperwhite.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger my Mom would pay a friend of the family to dress as Santa and he would come over on Christmas Eve to give everyone (all 17 kids and their parents) presents and then he would sit and have dinner with us before leaving to "deliver" presents to the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is when I got my puppy!
ReplyDelete2012- It was the last Christmas I would spend with my dad. Looking back I couldn't have ask for a better one. We were all able to come together, and celebrate the holiday. It was perfect. We didn't do anything extravagant, just simply baked, opened gifts, and enjoyed each others company. ♡
ReplyDeleteAny year that I can spend with my family is the best Christmas for me! We've been away from home for so long due to my husband being in the military, but next year we're finally moving back home! Can't WAIT!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was about three or four years ago, when my family and I decided to help out a couple families in need. Although we don't have much ourselves it's always nice to give to someone less fortunate. What we did was posted an ad on craigslist asking for those who weren't lucky enough to have presents for their children to write us their stories and out of the stories we would choose as many as we could to help with presents. We ended up choosing about five families and bought present for their children, a Christmas tree, lights and ornaments. We drove to all these peoples houses and helped them set everything up. It was amazing to give to people really in need. I will never forget how absolutely amazing that was and will always remember that everything that I have (no matter how little) there will always be someone with less. That Christmas really showed me how to be really appreciative for what I have.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was seven or so me and my sister woke my parents up to go unwrap the presents. Afterword we ate the cookies that "santa" had left me and my sister with our names on them. It has ben the best Christmas so far.
ReplyDeleteWhen my younger sister was 8, she got an electric blanket for Christmas. When she opened the gift she yelled, "WOAH, a mechanical blanket!!!" :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas actually happened two years ago, when my little brother was two years old and he could finally open the his presents. He was more entertained by the paper than it toys, it was fun to watch. Later that night my parents attended a Christmas party and I had to watch my brother, we stood up until midnight watching Thomas and Friends.
ReplyDeleteI think I have two, one two years ago when my aunt gave me the autobiography of my favorite guitarist and last year when my sister had a wii and my cousins and I played late into the night
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I went to San Francisco with my best friend, we went to union square. We ate clam chowder in bread bowls and rode cable cars. I think it was the best so far because it was not the presents that made me happiest, it was my best friend be with me.
ReplyDeleteI think it was when I went to Dallas Fort Worth and I spent my Christmas with distant cousins. It was the best because I had a lot of fun with new connections
ReplyDeleteMy Papa was my best friend and he passed away 3 days after I git married. My husband went out and bought a Polaroid camera so my Papa could have pics of me on my wedding day since he was unable to leave the hospital. So we and my whole wedding party went to the hospital for pictures and the first toast given to us by my Papa. That year for Christmas my husband had framed the pictures of me and my Papa on my wedding day. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was only 14. I had new foster parents. They were wonderful to me and I learned so much about the real meaning of family.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is from 1999 and it was my 8 month old daughter's first Christmas. It;s something I will never forget. Love my girl to the moon and back!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is gonna be this year because my daughter gets to really enjoy it and I can watch her try to open her presents!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say EVERY Christmas is my favorite Christmas! Having been married for 33 years, and on this earth for several more, I believe I have a few to choose from. But, honestly, every Christmas I can remember has been my “favorite.” There is always one or two things that stick out to me that make each one special. On both sides of the family were pretty strapped for cash one year, so we had a “Handmade Christmas” where none of the gifts were purchased (other than materials) and you had to create something for who’s ever name you drew. I gave a dinner for eight from scratch (we have large families) and received a beautiful terrarium.
ReplyDeleteOne Christmas we had hardly any money and four small children with meager gifts under the tree—Christmas morning we went to the tree and there were presents from Santa everywhere—someone from our church had mentioned it to our Clergy and they had provided nice little gifts for us! On the other end of the spectrum, having more money to over-spend a few years, we were more extravagant with the gifts…but we also ‘payed it forward’ by purchasing the order for the car behind us in a fast food lane, or paying someone else’s toll on the bridge, little things like that.
My personal favorite was a couple who had a baby just before Christmas that wound up on the NICU floor after delivery, and had to be there over Christmas. As a family, we decided to help with their Christmas because their attention was focused on their new baby. They also had three other children under six. We asked and got some favorites of the kids and then gave the parents $100 in a card just for them. Tears were abundant all the way around—it really isn’t about the receiving, it’s about the giving and family.
The best Christmases are those when everyone is home and we can be together. We usually choose another family in our church that might be struggling a little that year and give them “the 12 days of Christmas” treatment every night for 12 days preceding Christmas. A treat for them in different forms from movie tickets to a plate full of cookies, soda and popcorn for an in-home movie night, gingerbread house kits, and family board games...the list is endless.
Family Christmas Parties…from the hideous white elephants (my family would hunt all year for the perfect odd gift) to the years now where we are ‘all grown up’ and basically exchange excessively large bags of candy and chocolate…
In case you haven’t noticed we LOVE Christmas!
The Christmas I got a Kindle and Cat! My parents brought two boxes and place one in front of me and the other in front of my twin sister. The boxes started scooting across the floor so we followed them until they stopped and when we opened them out popped two adorable kittens!! Then underneath my kitten was a kindle pre-loaded with a guide to owning your own kitten book and a $50 Amazon gift card!! (Funny enough that is when I bought my first Shelly Crane book (Significance) and fell in loved with it, I went and bought every book published by Shelly Crane, as well as subscribed to news about any upcoming books that way I could pre-order them!)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas. A coworker stumbled upon the Significance series and suggest it to me. BEST PRESENT EVER! Such a wonderful series.
ReplyDeleteAs for my favorite Christmas, I think they are all pretty great. I think this year will be super fun because my youngest is now old enough to be excited about presents. I can't wait to see both my kids after Santa arrives.
I've honestly never had a bad Christmas. Every Christmas morning is spent with my wonderful family opening gifts and being together. I couldn't ask for anything better. (:
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be the BEST Christmas EVER! My sister and her little family are coming to visit and Miss them so it's going to be a blast! My son is 5 and seems to be very excited...we have been reading lots of Christmas stories for weeks now....so he is ready and counting the days.THANK YOU!
ReplyDeletei dont celebrate christmas- can i do chanukah?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the first with my darling daughter. After struggling to have a child, and losing one pregnancy, she was the best gift ever (even if she arrived months before Christmas).
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is that I get to spent it with my family
ReplyDeleteMy favorite xmas was the very first xmas my children and I shared w/ my now husband. We spoiled each other to pieces w/ home made goodies and just all out love. It was the first time my children and I felt like a real family after being abandoned by others for so long :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorit eChristmas was the day my daughter was born. We waited to open presents until we brought her home on the 30th. It was the best christmas ever.
ReplyDeleteI am Jewish so we do not celebrate Christmas. But my favorite Chanukah was actually this year. Since Chanukah was also on Thanksgiving AND my fathers birthday, we all got together at my parents house. My kids, my sister's family and a bunch of cousins, aunts and uncles I haven't seen in way too long were all there. It was pretty amazing!! <3 family time like that!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was December 2007 because it was my first Christmas as a mommy! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas ever, is kinda sad but here it is. It was 2008. My dad was battling lung cancer and was unable to talk in complete sentences. But he was so involved that year, he enjoyed it more than I can ever remember. Sadly he passed away in April 2009 but each Christmas I think of him and his face when we was watching his grandkids opening their gifts. It makes me smile because he enjoyed his life and would want us to do the same. Makes me appreciate what I have like, my family and health every year.
ReplyDeleteI've searched my brain for a memorable Christmas but I realize ill just tell you what I want to do in the future :) I really want to buy lots of gifts then wrap it(duh) then wander in the city and give gifts to random people..a great gift
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was 1995. It was the Christmas after my grandmother had passed. She had bought gifts and didn't tell anyone that she had bought them and they came to my Mom who opened them and started crying. My Grandmother loved the energizer bunny and she had bought my sisters and I 3 foot tall energizer bunnies for Christmas. I still have that rabbit to this day.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable Christmas was 2006 when my husband proposed to me. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing this giveaway! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was younger. I don't remember the year but I remember our whole family would go to my grandmother's house and sleep there Christmas Eve so that we could all wake up together on Christmas Morning.
DeleteI always think that the Christmas I am currently having is my favorite one, until the next Christmas and then that is my favorite one, and then the next one.....Apparently my appreciation for life, love and family grows every year. I am truly blessed to be able to spend my Christmas holidays with everyone I Love so they are all my favorite.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is every Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas and getting together with family and friends..
I love my daughter waking me up super early and running around wanting to see what Santa brought her... It's the best :)
My favorite Christmas is still to come. It's where we finally can slow down and enjoy the season and not be so stressed about funding everything. Also it may include hot chocolate our favorite Christmas movies and some popcorn.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was when I was a child we had the tradition of going to Disneyland for Christmas Eve and Day. We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel for the night (even though we live in Southern California). We had some magical times!
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I always loved waking up on Xmas morning and seeing everything Santa brought. Now, for the past three years, I have LOVED seeing my daughter wake up on Xmas and seeing what Santa brought her. She's is three now, and knows all about Santa and is very excited. Before, she was too young to really be excited about it, but I just know this year is going to be amazing. I can't wait to see her beautiful little face light up!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas so far was the first one after adopting my daughter... she has been my treasure ever since.seeing the holidays thru the eyes of a now 6 year old is amazing
ReplyDeleteReally, any christmas I'm with my family
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas was the last year my entire family was together. Today the family is split into a few groups and won't make up. It was all centered around me and my mom and step dad's falling out and moving out and then the entire family took sides. So now even though my mom and step dad and I have made up and gotten past our problems the rest of the family hasn't. I try repeatedly to give each other another chance, but they will only come around when they're ready to let go.
ReplyDeleteI have to say my favorite Christmas was the last one we had with our son alive. All the kids were younger, we played board games, some of the kids squabbled over who cheated. We ate great food, opened gifts in under an hour (ha ha) and had guests. Topped it off with some holiday related movie to watch with the family and there you have it. It has been ten years since he died and took me a long time before I could look back to the good times without the deep wrench of loss not just with him, but with the entire family. I look forward to next week when the kids come home and we still rush to open presents in under an hour, eat better food and play our annual Yahtzee game. The kids don't know it but I'm set to win this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shelly for allowing me to share.
Sabrina Rawson
My favorite Christmas was last year. It my was son's first Christmas. To see him get excited for all the lights and the tree was really cool. He even ripped part of a present open. It was amazing. My first Christmas as a family with my son and my husband.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas is always the current one. I am so excited to celebrate it with my family and watch my son really rip into the presents this year. i am eager to start our traditions with him, as we celebrate.
ReplyDeleteOne of my most cherished Christmas memories would have to be one where I was around ten years old. My parents, sister, and I went to Mexico to visit my grandparents over the holidays. The evening on Christmas Eve, we joined a long line of people walking to the church. Everyone was holding a lit candle on the way there and chattered was heard all around. Families, friends, and neighbors were all walking together. When we got to the church everything looked so bright and hopeful. Definitely my favorite Christmas memory.
ReplyDeletebest one for me was last year, we went to eat with my uncle, and as a surprise my other family flew in and we had an amazing time, presents, food, and of course- family, it was really amazing!
ReplyDeleteBest Christmas I think will be this year with my son and husband. He's 1 and loves rippig open gifts.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas was when I was on exchange in Norway. Even though it didn't really feel like Christmas because it wasn't how I would normally spend it, it was by far one of the most memorable. I'm so grateful for all the little things my host family did to make me feel at home and accepted, and I hope one day I'll be able to return the favour. It was also my first white Christmas - I'm Australian and I had never seen snow before!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
