What's Been Going On With Me?

So, there's this....

Well, so much has been going on with me lately.
I knew I was going to be buying a house, working on said house, and then moving into said house. I knew I was going to have Movie stuff to deal with. I knew I was going to quickly finish Revolution and then begin on Independence and be able to be super-woman. Be mom and take care of my kids, be a wife, be a writer and move into my new house and finish Independence.
What I didn't count on was breaking my neck in two places.
So my whole left arm, hand, neck and face were numb, tingling and painful for weeks. I wasn't able to write, drive, do laundry or do anything. I've been a lump basically, as the doctors told me I had to do bed rest because my spinal cord was pinched.
Now finally, after 2 months of this, I've started the spinal steroid shots and have all the feeling back in my body except my left hand which is still numb. But I'm able to write again. We still haven't moved because of all my doctors visits and everything going on.
I'm working my butt off to try to catch up and get Independence out by the release date. Unfortunately, I still have more spinal shots I have to get and doctors visits and a book signing which requires me to travel for a few days that will be taking up my time.
I'm not saying the book won't be done on its release date, but I'm just giving you a head's up just in case. I've never missed a deadline, in fact, every single release I've had has been early, but I don't want to rush and just get it all done as soon as possible just so I'm not late. I want to make the last book what I always imagined, and take my time to make sure every little thing is done and just perfect to end the series. But I'm still going to work hard to try to have it done on time.
I have some awesome author friends who have been amazing and encouraging through all this, and I wasn't going to air out my problems to you all, but with the deadline looming for Independence, I decided I better let you know just in case I didn't finish.
I feel a lot better than what I did, but right now I'm just taking it one day at a time. Being a stay at home mom and having to rest and be useless, not able to do anything really in my own house, is making me a little crazy :) But I'm managing.
I'll keep you updated the closer the date comes and I'm hoping I'll be able to say, "I'm Done!" before the deadline.

I'm sorry :( but I promise I'm working hard on it!
You guys are amazing and I can't wait to have this book to you. The last thing I want to do is let you down.

Best wishes and happy endings,

  30. sooo not worried about a deadline. I would prefer you take the time you need to feel better and give the series the send off you always envisioned. If this means I wait till next year, I am absolutely and completely fine with it. Your personal life should always be first, and we will wait patiently until such time you can properly focus on other goings on :)
p.s. super duper happy about the movie!!!!

As always things that are meant to be done will be completed but not at the cost of quality. I will always be in high anticipation for your books no matter what the time frame. :) Get Well Soon!
