Giveaway & Interview : Georgia Cates

The lovely, awesome, fantastical Georgia Cates is stopping by to give us a little insight into her writing.

She's also giving away an e-book copy of your choice!!

You can pick between her YA Contemporary 'Going Under' (Fabulous) or her YA paranormal 'Anteros'.

Just LOOK at these gorgeous covers.

Going Under        Blood of Anteros (The Vampire Agápe, #1)

1. How did you come up with the story line behind your books?

With The Agape Series, I wrote books that I wanted to read, but couldn’t find, about an all-time great romance between a vampire and something not quite human. They are based entirely on predestined love and the struggle to find one another.

With Going Under, I wrote it based on my own high school experiences with a bad boy, not quite as great as Jessie. (Whew! Glad things with him didn’t go anywhere.)

2. Are you planning to keep going and going, going?

Yes, just like the Energizer Bunny.

3. What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A nurse. And that’s what I have done for almost 14 years.

4. Who's your favorite author and\or favorite book and why?

The Scarlet Letter is my favorite book and I think it’s because Arthur Dimmesdale was my first bad boy of fiction. What can I say? I love a great bad boy.

5. Do you have a cast in mind if your book were ever to become a movie?

I admit I don’t watch a lot of television, so this is a difficult question for me, but...Oliver Goodwill could be my Jessie any day of the week and I think India Eisley would be a great Claire.

6. What is something you wished you'd done differently when publishing your first book?

I wish I had invested in an editor before publishing for the first time. I learned that lesson the hard way, but I have connected with a wonderful editor and am confident it will make a huge difference in the future.

7. What is something awesome that we can look forward to in future books?

I am not positive about how many books The Agape Series will include. It will be a minimum of 3, but who knows? The possibilities are endless.

Going Under will get a sequel this Fall about Payton and the romance she will find. The only thing I’m willing to share is that he’ll have to be one tough guy to be able to handle that little firecracker.

After that...I’m tackling a new YA paranormal romance series. (So excited about where that leads.)

8. Any lessons learned or advice to new authors?

Don’t sit around and wait for it happen. No one is going to do it for you. Either grab the bull by the horns or lay it down. Anything less than your all simply isn’t good enough.

9. What's your absolute favorite thing about be an author?

Freedom. As an Independent, I am free to write what, when, where and how I wish.

10. List 5 random things about yourself.

I soooo dig music.

I stalk musicians after concerts.

I love any combination of chocolate and raspberries.

I am a wonderful cook.

Many of Claire and Payton’s characteristics are based on myself.
